OUR ORGANISATION
Family Planning is a not-for-profit health promotion and services organisation specialising in sexual and reproductive health.
Family Planning works to promote a positive view of sexuality and to enable people to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. We provide:
- clinical services
- education and health promotion
- sexual health educational resources
- professional training services
- 30 clinical centres and 14 education centres throughout New Zealand
- research
CLINICAL SERVICES
Family Planning offers a wide range of clinical services including:
- contraception - advice and prescriptions
- fertility advice
- pregnancy testing and counselling
- sexual advice for youth
- menopause advice and treatment
- pre-menstrual syndrome advice and treatment
- vasectomy - information and operation
- sexually transmitted infections (STIs) checks and treatment
- cervical smears
- breast checks
- general sexual health
EDUCATION
Educators work in the community with schools, youth, community groups, women's groups, early childhood groups and parents.
PROFESSIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
Family Planning is a recognised leader providing specialised training in sexual and reproductive health to health professionals. Courses are offered throughout New Zealand.
