What’s Up - free phone help for kids

WHAT DO WE PROVIDE?

What’s Up is a free professional phone counselling service available to young people in New Zealand aged 5 to 18 years. The service operates seven days a week from noon to midnight. Paid, trained and closely supervised professional counsellors answer the telephones. Callers can ask to talk to the same counsellor again.

What’s Up offers early intervention, rather than picking up the pieces later. Over 40% of the problems children and young people call What’s Up about involve relationships with others - peers, bullying, family, partners.

ABOUT US

What’s Up is provided by The Kid’s Help Foundation Trust in association with Barnardos New Zealand. The Trust is a New Zealand registered charity sponsored by Telecom New Zealand and also by donations. What’s Up aims to provide early help to children and teach them skills that will help prevent the development of major problems later in their lives.
