Philosophy

We are in service to "help people out!" We aim to offer midwifery care, which is friendly and professional. A lot of women find it a daunting process at the beginning of their pregnancy when they are told to find a Lead Maternity Care giver. All you have to do is contact us and we will carefully explain your maternity care choices. If you then choose a Maternity Matters midwife you will be guided through your pregnancy and birth process with a high standard of midwifery care with referrals to the appropriate specialist service as required.

Services

• Our service is PROFESSIONAL and FREE - paid for by the Ministry of Health
• We cover West Auckland with rooms in Henderson (7 Woodford Avenue)
•  Maternity Matters service has developed out of response to what women have said that they would like to see, so we are continually reshaping and growing in the care service we provide to women
• We each offer a Lead Maternity Care service but there may be some variation in the way we operate our back up cover but we remain available to you 24 hours a day
• In response to women's needs we have childbirth education classes and coffee mornings
• Blood tests can be done on site and we refer woman to Horizon Scanning for free pregnancy scanning 
• Baby on the Move car seats available for rental
• We have a private paediatrian on site who provides free (up to 4 weeks old) consultations before and after the birth of your baby, and if you request private obstetrician cover at birth, then we can make this available (fee payable)
