OUR ORGANISATION
Age Concern is a charitable, non profit, voluntary organistaion and is an umbrella for over 500 other agencies and groups working with older people in New Zealand since 1948. There is an Age Concern Council in all major cities and in many provincial centres throughout New Zealand.
OUR WORK
A range of services are provided by the Councils including:
- home support, home maintenance, gardening
- day care, recreation
- transport
- meals
The National Office provides:
- education and health promotion services
- accredited visiting services
- elder abuse and neglet prevention services
We also:
- provide a national voice for older people
- provide an advocacy service for older adults
- coordinate national services
- develop information resources and programmes
- disseminates information about issues affecting older people
