MISSION STATEMENT
The New Zealand Continence Association is a multi-disciplinary body that actively facilitates continence promotion throughout New Zealand.
OUR AIMS
To promote, facilitate and advocate:

- Accessible, equitable high quality services throughout New Zealand

0800 FREEPHONE HELPLINE
The Association has an 0800 Freephone Helpline (0800 650 659). Callers to the helpline are posted information on seven subjects of incontinence and are referred to continence services in the area in which they live.
FACTS ABOUT INCONTINENCE
- Bladder control problems are very common - about 600,000 adult New Zealanders experience leakage twice or more per month
- Only one third seek professional advice - many think nothing can be done
- 70-80 per cent of people can become dry or significantly improved, the remainder managing their problem better
- Women outnumber men with the problem by four to one
- About 3-5 per cent of women over the age of 18 years wet themselves every day
