WHO WE ARE
The Post Natal Psychosis Charitable Trust provides support and information for women, partners and families who are affected by postnatal psychosis.
WE CAN PROVIDE
- One on one support
- Telephone support
- Written information (brochures etc)
- Monthly meetings in the day and night held throughout the Auckland area
- The Post Natal Psychosis Support Group caters specifically for women who are suffering from, or who have experienced in the past, their first episode of psychosis, either during pregnancy, after the birth of a baby or a miscarriage.
- We continue to provide support to those women who go on to have a recurring illness.
- We are available to speak to any groups and organisations with an interest in this area, where we can give them a consumers perspective on this illness along with information about the services our group offers.
- We provide information on postnatal psychosis which is available at maternity hospitals, mental health facilities, doctors surgeries, Plunket centres, Parent Centres, Family Planning to name a few.
- Liaising and working with the Maternity Mental Health teams within the Northern Region.
OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
We work to ensure that a mother and baby are not separated after the birth by providing 24 hour in-home care.
